From Filming to Publication: How Video Marketing Works at Eigen Bodem

You're considering video marketing for your firm, but you're wondering: how does a project like this actually work? What do I need to provide? How long does it take? And what do I end up with?
In this article I'll walk you step by step through the process at Eigen Bodem — from the first conversation to the video live on your channels.
Step 1 – Introduction and intake
It all starts with a conversation. Not a sales pitch, but a substantive introductory chat where I get to know you: who you are, what you do, who you do it for, and what image you want to project.
During the intake I ask questions like:
• Which project or projects do you want to showcase?
• Which platforms do you want to be active on — LinkedIn, Instagram, your website, YouTube?
• Have you used video before, and what did it bring you?
• What's the goal you want to achieve with the video?
Based on this intake I put together a concrete proposal: which videos we'll make, how we'll use them, and what it costs. Only once you approve do we schedule the first shoot day.
Step 2 – Preparation and planning
A good shoot day starts long before the camera turns on. During preparation we think through together:
• The location: which spaces, which angles, what time of day gives the best light?
• Practical matters: is there room for drone footage? Are there any restrictions around the building?
• Any people on camera: architects, clients, or staff who want to contribute to the story.
Step 3 – Shoot day(s)
On the shoot day I arrive on site with professional equipment: camera, lenses, stabilizers, a slider, professional audio, lighting equipment, and the drone if needed. I work calmly and in a structured way, so your client or the people using the space experience as little disruption as possible.
During the shoot I pay attention to more than just technical quality. I look for the details that make your work unique: the texture of a material, the interplay of light and shadow, the transition between spaces.
Step 4 – Editing and post-production
After the shoot day, editing begins. All the footage is selected, combined, and edited into a beautiful film. I deliberately choose an editing style that fits your high-end positioning, with a music score that underlines the mood.
After the first version, you receive a review link. You watch the video and give feedback. We incorporate your comments in a revision round so the final result matches exactly what you had in mind.
Depending on what we agree, in addition to the main video we also deliver shorter versions: a vertical version for Instagram Reels, and possibly separate mood-footage clips for Stories or your website.
Step 5 – Strategy and distribution
A strong video is only the beginning. The real value only emerges once thought has gone into how, where, and when that video is used.
Many firms invest in production but leave distribution to chance. A good video then often stays limited to a single publication moment, while there's much more potential in it.
That's why at Eigen Bodem we see strategy as a separate part of the collaboration. It's not automatically included when you commission a single video. A single production is about making the film itself. Strategy is about the role that film plays in your visibility over the longer term.
In a strategy session, we look at questions such as:
• What story do you want to tell? And how do you build a recognizable narrative across multiple projects that fits your firm's position?
• What's the ultimate goal of the video? What does it contribute to? And does this video reach the right audience?
• When do you publish a project for the greatest reach and relevance?
• Which channel reaches the right audience: LinkedIn, Instagram, your website, or a combination?
• What accompanying text strengthens the video's message and invites engagement?
• How do you incorporate video on your website so projects are found more easily on Google?
• Which projects are coming up in the next few months, and which moments are worth capturing?
The added value of a strategy is that individual videos become part of a larger whole. You're no longer working project by project, but building consistent visibility step by step. That creates more recognition, a clearer profile, and a better fit with the projects you want to attract.
That's exactly why at Eigen Bodem we like to build long-term partnerships. In a year-long collaboration, we evaluate every quarter what's working, sharpen the approach, and plan new productions ahead of time. This creates a rhythm where content isn't made ad hoc, but contributes purposefully to your firm's growth.
